Domestic and family violence is a violent, abusive or intimidating behaviour in a relationship. Domestic violence is more than just physical violence it is any behaviour meant to control, dominate, humiliate or scare another person in a relationship. On average, at least one woman a week is killed by a partner or former partner in Australia. Women are at least 3 times more likely to experience domestic violence. Of those women who experience violence, more than half have children under their care. By signing this petition, you can help lower these statistics and help those who have suffered from domestic abuse.
The Australian government needs to focus on funding to support victims of domestic violence.
