End the sufferings of the Interdict - Nehhi t-tbatijiet ta'l-Interdett

In 1960 Archbishop Sir Michael Gonzi and Bishop Guzeppi Pace both imposed an Interdict on the Malta Labour Party and all who supported it could not recieve the sacraments, go to confession, and recieve Holy Communion and this remained until 1969. Obviously this led to further family break ups and this was intended to keep the Malta Labour Party from winning elections; in fact in 1971 after the Interdict was lifted The Malta Labour Party won the election.
In a televised interview both the late Mons Guzeppi Mercieca and Mons Nikol Cauchi admitted that nothing good came out of. Mons Mercieca went even further by apologising for those dark days.
We demand that in order that this issue is put to rest both current Mons Scicluna , archbishop of Malta and Mons Grech , Bishop of Gozo go to the Addolorata Cemetery and bless what was once unconsecrated ground better known as il-Mizbla (the rubbish dump).
I am signing because most of of our relatives who suffered in those times are no longer around and deserve an apology.
