The Arc's Tenants Joint Dissatisfaction
The Arc's Tenants Joint Dissatisfaction
Residents of The Arc Winnipeg would like to bring forth issues concerning the high number of problems with the management's lack of helpful responses.
The Arc Winnipeg states it is "the first luxury student housing community in Winnipeg. With a student’s lifestyle in mind, The ARC was designed to feature student-friendly amenities and features on-site staff to offer assistance with whatever you may require." Although there is a 24/7 apartment on-call number, that number cannot be reached.
The Arc has been everything but that in the past few months since open to residents. There have been daily interruptions with wifi connections for residents who depend on high-speed wifi to get through their job/schooling while working from home during these unprecedented times. That said, a consistent and strong wifi connection is a MUST.
There have been constant issues with the laundry room, such as unexpected closures. Dryers have been off and on for the past month now. A place to keep daily hygienic practices is a MUST.
Many residents within The Arc agree that some of the rooms/apartments were aimlessly built and rushed. For example, issues such as no outlet covers and faulty light switches were noticed.
One resident mentioned, "Most residents living within The Arc Winnipeg are international students who are just starting University, and should not have to face added stress, especially from their apartment complex."
Front desk staff should be present to accept expensive packages for residents. Residents have had packages left in the lobby, as the use of a FOB in the elevator is required to get between floors. A better FOB system should be in place to give couriers the accessibility to deliver packages to their designated delivery point. At least until the carrier lockers are in place (which was expected a long time ago).
The rent price is exceptionally high for poor service, communication with staff, and repeating inconsistencies. Therefore, the residents of The Arc are asking its management to strive to meet their mission to bring a positive "luxury" experience to students. For the past five months, it's been everything but that.
Lastly, the advertisements on The Arc's website are very misleading. The website portrays a beautiful and modern complex with various accessibilities. This includes suite door access with a smartphone, VR room, 24/7 business centre, and 24/7 on-call service team, which have not been met. The 'promised' services should come to fruition if the misleading ads remain on the website.
