The Apartheid flag is a symbol of oppression, a flaming reminder of the dehumanisation and state sponsored violence that invokes anger and hurt for many Black South Africans. Displaying the Apartheid flag in households, establishments and marches sends a message to fellow South Africans that the displayer supports this system and what it stood for.

Displaying the Apartheid flag is a spit at the face of Black people who were duped into forgiving the atrocities of apartheid, they were tricked into forgiving the unapologetic racists and their racism, they were hoodwinked into forgiving people who never asked for forgiveness for killing their loved ones. Do not allow AfriForum to open the wounds of apartheid. Do not allow white racists to perpetuate the betrayal of Black people. Apartheid and its symbols remain a horrendous crime against humanity.

So let us support all noble efforts of South Africans from all walks of life in their bid to outlaw apartheid flag - a symbol of hatred and oppression through our courts.

We call on all South Africans to sign this petition so that we may let go of colonialist racist symbols that do nothing in the way of building national unity, but rather sow seeds of division.
