Have you ever gone to Starbuck's and got a drink? Let's say that in that drink you saw a straw. You finish that drink and throw that straw out. Well we can say you are like most other people in the world. Straws are too light to be recycle and can fly away in the wind, ending up in our oceans or landfills. Straws take about 500 hundred years to decompose like most plastics and since they are single use we use more than 10 million a year.
Don't worry. We can help fix this with these simple solutions:
- Raise awareness to your classmates, friends or even neighbourhoods
- Stop using straws in general
- Use alternatives like metal straws or paper straws
