Garry Kravit started this petition to Chairman ALPA Council 5 Glenn Johnson and

Our MEC Officers and most of you declared shared sacrifice and shared reward as they promoted the recently passed Pandemic Recovery LOA.  Yet the MEC Officers have not voluntarily, or otherwise, reduced the 94.5 hours of flight loss pay they receive each month on top of a $2,000/month incidental cash disbursement, and a $150,000 +/- annual expense account.

Please sign this petition asking our LEC and MEC officers to hear our voices.  No matter where you stand on the seniority list, we are united in believeing that leadership starts at the top.  And yes, we believe in shared sacrifice.

Please sign this petition as a statement to our elected representatives of your position, and feel free to copy this resolution and submit to your local council for action:

Share the Pain of the Pandemic Recovery LOA

United ALPA Council _____ Resolution –

Whereas:  Across time and cultures, honorable and successful military and civilian leaders have led from the front.  True leadership understands that you must never expect a subordinate to do something you would not do yourself, and

Whereas: The ALPA pilots of United will all be subject to reduced pay as a result of the ratification of the Pandemic Recovery LOA, and

Whereas: The United MEC Master Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer, and other committee members, are all on full-time flight loss pay (FLP) per the UAL MEC Policy, and are pay protected at 94.5 hours per month, in addition to a cash payment of $2000.00 month, and an annual expense account near $150,000 annually.

Therefore be it Resolved: The members of Council ____ direct the Council _____ officers to bring and floor a resolution to the MEC at the earliest possible opportunity to amend the UAL MEC Policy Manual such that all representatives on full time FLP shall have their pay adjusted to reflect the same guarantee pay decline as a percentage of MPG loss as any line pilot with equal seniority and equipment and seat and to remain in effect as long as rank and file pilots are subject to any reduction in pay under the Pandemic Recovery LOA, or any subsequent LOA which effectively reduces the membership’s take home pay and/or MPG.

Be it Further Resolved: such percentages shall follow and adjust with line pilot MPG as applicable under the “Pandemic Recovery LOA”, Section I, Work Reductions, 2. Lineholders, a., i. (Scheduled Pilot Block Hours as Percentage of 2019 Level (Same Bid Period).

INTENT:  The reductions shall apply as follows for MEC officers and committee members on full time FLP:
1)     Senior Group shall take a 14.29 % (13.50 hours) reduction of the 94.5 resulting in monthly FPL credit of 81 hours.
2)     Middle Group shall take a 25.7% (23.625 hours) reduction of the 94.5 resulting in monthly FPL credit of 70.875.
3)     Junior Group shall take a 50% (47.25 hours) reduction of the 94.5 resulting in monthly FPL credit of 47.25
