Megan Imker started this petition to The Administration of Lexington High

This petition is to make it clear there is a need for change at LHS. Students at Lexington are being told “your body is a distraction” and this mindset needs to change. We need to take a stand against the treatment of students and instead promote the encouragement to be happy with our bodies and love and celebrate ourselves. Oh Thursday April 1st students were able to purchase the ability to wear short shorts. If we have to pay to show our bodies and not obey the dress code then why have a dress code at all. This movement is to support our right to express ourselves and bodies and get the attention of the Administration of LHS and propose a change. Our bodies are NOT a distraction. This dress code only tells us from a young age to stay hidden and silent but we will do neither. If the motto of our school is to empower students then let’s start now.
