Gritty Should Host The Oscars

Gritty Should Host The Oscars
Problem
Kevin Hart recently stepped down from his position as host of the 2019 Oscars ceremony following the uncovering of past homophobic tweets. In 2018, who is even still left in the entertainment industry completely unsullied by past bigotry or other such wrong-doing?
Solution
The solution? A young, naif-like host who hasn't been around long enough to do or say anything truly horrifying while also embodying the spirit of celebration and camaraderie the Academy hopes to represent with its yearly awards ceremony. Someone who represents the spirit of the people, who is universally beloved, a public figure we can all truly enjoy. I'm talking of course about the Philadelphia Flyers mascot, antifa icon, and all-around gad-about-town Gritty.
Everyone loves Gritty, a true hero for our times. Gritty came into existence this year, so his understanding of social issues is modern and not sullied by past ignorance. Gritty will never say anything untoward because Gritty doesn't speak. While some may say this will make hosting an awards ceremony a challenge, I believe you'll find most Oscars viewers take little to no interest in what the host actually says. And what better way to honor the legacy of Douglas Fairbanks and indeed the visual medium of film as a whole than with a silent host?
Personal story
I am a former film student and former yearly Oscar party host whose interest in the Oscars has waned over the years and is looking to recapture the magic. As an ardent watcher of the ceremony and a Bachelor of Arts in media studies, I do not present myself as an authority but rather an enthusiast who would like to see this ceremony truly represent the world's love of film and entertainment using the only truly unifying symbol left: Gritty.
