Petitioning The 2012 Presidential Debates

Gary Johnson should be in the presidential debates

Gary Johnson was a former governor of New Mexico from 1995 until 2003. During that time, he was able to cut taxes fourteen times without raising them once and had a budget surplus upon leaving office. He cut 1,200 government jobs without firing a single person and paved the way for 20,000 new jobs to be added during his tenure. He is now the Libertarian Party's candidate for President of the United States.

He is, according to his campaign website, "an outspoken advocate for efficient government, balanced budgets, rational drug policy reform, protection of civil liberties, comprehensive tax reform, and personal freedom." Yet someone with executive experience is not allowed to be a part of the presidential debates due to the "Ross Perot Rule."

Nationally, Mr. Johnson must poll at 15% of likely voters to participate. Therefore, this petition will be considered completed the moment 19,660,501 people that are registered voters sign this petition (that is 15% of the 2008 US Presidential Election vote). By signing, this means you are willing to hear a third choice, which is what many in the United States want to have--a third choice.
