Gonzaga University refuses to take responsibility for the health and well-being of its students by denying students' access to contraceptives. Although they preach the development of the "mind, body, and spirit" they are knowingly putting their students' bodies at risk of contracting STDs by withholding these resources from them. Many students come here with prescriptions for birth control that they cannot be given at the campus health center. This forces them, along with any other students requiring contraceptives, to go off campus to obtain it, which can be difficult since many do not have a car on campus.

In this day and age, it is unreasonable for a university to assume that its students will not partake in such actions. Unprotected sex is unfortunately prevalent on many college campuses, which leads to unplanned pregnancies and harmful diseases. Gonzaga's students should not be punished for wanting to practice safe sex. It is the responsibility of the University to aid them in this endeavor. Gonzaga needs to help care for their students by offering contraceptives on campus and prescribing birth control at the health center.
