Dear Oilers, thank you!

We, the fans, want to send the players, coaches, support staff, and all their families a deep wholehearted thank you for such a fantastic season.  You brought so much more than just great hockey this year.  You brought passion, resilience, positivity, dedication, professionalism, and inspiration.  

• From us experienced arm-chair quarterback folk: we can be a bit grumpy and overanalytical sometimes...but we also know that you are making calls and plays in real-time ... that you are doing your best ... that you are human ... and that your game knowledge and skills are way higher than most of ours can ever be and we respect that. 
• From us parents: Thanks for inspiring our kids.  Thanks for showing them how to work through the pain and against the odds. Thanks for showing them how to work as a team. 
• From us kids: Thanks for giving us a chance to wear hats to school and stay up late at night…and when we do finally get to sleep…some pretty awesome dreams!
• From us half-hockey fans: Thanks for showing us how awesome hockey really is…and how great this Oilers group is … as both athletic professionals and as people.

Out of appreciation, the undersigned will keep our flags up, or our jerseys on, for one more week.
