Yesterday Rep. Glen Casada took HB0598 (the Special Access to Discriminate bill) off notice in the House Commerce subcommittee. He will bring the bill back, but he took a swipe at Tennessee's four largest cities in his comments to the Tennessean when he said: “I don’t plan on making any changes,” said Casada. “Obviously, cities have gotten their stories out. Now it’s my turn.”
The administration of Nashville Mayor Karl Dean has actively fought this bill that strips cities and counties of their legitimate authority. Please, take a moment to thank Mayor Dean for standing against this harmful legislation.
It means a great deal to many people across the state that you would take a stand against this destructive bill and set an example for other cities to follow.
