The Canadian Government is currently advocating for greater support and leniency for renters due to the economic hardship that many Canadians are facing. It is widely known that university students are dealing with the added stress of navigating online learning platforms due to the closing of schools all across Ontario. Further, many have lost their jobs or have had summer internships canceled.

During this unprecedented time, students in Theo Residents have been asked to continue to pay rent in full. This is unacceptable as many students have had to leave the building as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Further, many of the services and building amenities have been closed, making them unavailable to students remaining in the building. 

We are asking for the support of all the tenants in the building in asking for a discounted rent during this unprecedented and uncertain time. We also encourage you to share your stories in the comments about how this pandemic has affected you. This will hopefully help to enlighten Theo to the struggles students in the building are facing.
