Due to the Novel Coronavirus, also commonly referred to as COVID-19, Texas State University as well as many other Universities across Texas and the globe have had to shut down. With the transition being to online classes being an effective and applaudable method by the University itself to combat the spread of the Coronavirus, there has been little to no effort done to help both Professors and Students ease into this new territory.

Both Professors and Students are expected to maintain their normal standard of expectation in delivering and understanding instruction, as per Dr. Gene Bourgeois “ The university’s remote classes will continue to maintain the highest quality standard. Students are expected to participate in Activities, Assessments, and Assignments throughout the remainder of the semester.” ( March 31,2020).

This is unfair for both Professors who are having a hard time transitioning to online and for those students who are unable to access on campus resources! Sign the following petition to urge Dr. Gene Bourgeois and Texas State University to adopt a university wide Pass/Fail system for Spring 2020.
