We, the students, would like Texas State Parking services to turn the levels of parking garages that aren’t getting used, into more parking for students. For example, in the Edward Gary St. Parking garage, students with green parking passes and gate key cards can only park on levels 5,6,and 7. This is not enough parking for all the students who live in Butler, Lantana, and Sterry. Students are spending at least 30 minutes around the parking garage looking for parking and not finding it. Those students who can’t find parking are forced to park in other parking garages, where there is also not enough parking. It is a constant battle for students to find parking and it can sometimes affect their attendance to classes and jobs. As the students, we believe that we pay enough for parking for there to be enough parking for all the students who bring their vehicles to college and buy a parking permit.
