Revenge porn is the act of distributing images or videos taken of an individual while nude, or performing a sexual act without the consent of the victim. There are thousandths of cases where couples agree on sharing these images and videos between one another, but once the relationship is over, one of the individuals shares the images to either a friend or even publish them online in social media or porn sites. This can be very harmful to the victims as it might cause harassment, public embarrassment, current and future damages to their personal and  professional life and even health issues such as depression, anxiety, self-harm and panic attacks. Once these images are spread, it is almost impossible to get rid of them and will be circulating the web forever, affecting those involved for the rest of their life. A study found that 80 percent of employers rely on candidate's online reputation as an employment screen. The number has only increased in recent years. In the state of Texas, revenge porn is only a misdemeanor, known as the "Relationship Privacy Act"  Please help us raise awareness and start a conversation about this issue to the Texas State Congress so that revenge porn can be moved up to a third degree felony. If the victims of this crime will be affected for the rest of their life, so should the lives of those who committed the crime.
