The NTTA currently charges an initial late fee of $10.00 and another of $25.00 for each late transaction. This is unfair to Texas Tax Payers. We are paying taxes to have safe Texas roads. (most are damaged or construction areas and toll roads are always backed up) The NTTA is over the toll roads and are charging outlandish fees on bills that are $1.68. For instance, an original transaction of $1.68 can cost tax payers $36.68 if not paid on time. Imagine if all companies could charge outlandish late fees. If my car payment is late they are only allowed to charge up to 5% of the payment. I would not be charged $800 late fee on a $400 car note. How is this lawful? We are asking for the NTTA to be held to a excessive fee amount of no more than $5-10%.
How is it far to raise the price of a bill over 3000%?
