I want to be able to have the option of whether or not to keep your GPA from the year of the global pandemic. Because of this pandemic, schools were converted to online school. Many students' grades dropped due to the fact that we had to adapt to online school. Especially for the incoming freshman, we were new to high school, and were struck with being virtual students. I have always been top of my class, hoping to achieve valedictorian in high school. But because of the COVID-19 my grades significantly dropped. Not only was online school hard for students to adapt to, there were teachers who had to learn too. Many teachers were having a hard time posting lessons, or just blatantly didn't post them, making it significantly harder for us virtual students to complete our work. This would lead to us virtual students unable to understand our assignments. Not only was the year of COVID-19 difficult in school, there were many people facing traumatic events, leaving them mentally unstable. But for the people who were able to participate in in-school-learning and maintain the grade they desired, I believe it would be unfair if we just completely took away our GPA from the year of the pandemic. That is why I believe we should give us students the option on whether to keep your GPA from the year of the pandemic (2020-2021).
