Based on scientific knowledge we know that wearing a mask decreases the spread of COVID-19. Vaccinations are an important early  step; however, we do not yet know if vaccinations will decrease the spread of COVID-19.

With spring break approaching and people relaxing their standards because of vaccinations, we must continue to wear a mask. The time will come, in the future, when wearing masks will not be necessary to combat COVID on a large scale, but this time is NOT now. We must continue to wear a mask. It appears that Governor Abbott did not learn from Spring 2020 when he re-opened the state of Texas prematurely and the COVID cases skyrocketed especially in minority communities. 

We must learn from our past mistakes so as not to repeat them. Masks must be worn until we as a state have conquered this virus. 

Governor Abbott please show us that you are  the governor for all Texans regardless of political party affiliation. Please maintain mask requirements in public places.
