Kerrie Roberson started this petition to Texas Governor and

In the State of Texas, there is no law stating that an employer has to give their employee a break or lunch break unless they have a disability that requires it or are breastfeeding. This is crazy! Empoyees are being required to work 8+ hours a day with little or no breaks. Some are jobs requiring them to be on their feet doing physically demanding labor resulting in the employee being more fatigued and early burn out. Wouldn't it be more benificial to both the employee and the employer if the employee was allowed to have at least one 15 minute break and one 30 minute lunch break for an 8 hour shift. This would give the employee a chance to eat as well as rest, allowing them to be more productive and attentive. This break would also allow them a mental break which could help with less anxiety and depression as well as mental fatigue.

These breaks should be required for all positions in every company/business. Whether it is a convinience store, resturant, ranches, retail, production, clerical, etc. all humans are equal, therefore, why shouldn't we all be treated as such.
