I’m signing because with everything going on in the world is so traumatizing, why add undue pressure and stress. Us as educators are already trying to get certified that’s another test and fee we just don’t have the money or mental stability to do right now. I’ll never understand this concept you say there’s a Teacher shortage but there’s so much testing involved to become one.

As a first year teacher that is already trying to teach through covid, adding this to my plate while on my intern certification is overwhelming. I feel as if i do not have enough time to pass all of my tests. Do my Texas Teachers requirements and complete all of my née teachers trainings through my school.

I’ve already passed the 291 which includes the STR portion. This extra test is completely redundant and is clearly a ploy to gather up more money from teachers of all people

The start of this exam should be delayed due to the craziness of this past year. Due to the distance learning in Spring of 2020, I was not able to finish my observation times. I finished but because my last observation was January 7th, I now have to take this exam, and on top of that pay to take it. This situation was totally out of my hands. So unfair.

We're in the middle of a pandemic, jobs don't pay that well, going to college or taking courses is expensive, you have to pay for some exams which are expensive and on top of that people have families to worry about. Yeah, Texas needs to calm down with all this testing.

I feel like this is an additional exam that is not needed. I have taken my PPR EC-6th Content Exam and my special education exam to become certified. Now I have to take an additional test at a very unpredictable time in America. I feel like this should not be happening right now. I hope this waiver passes because teachers are one of the most important jobs right now. We need more coming to the table for our children’s success and adding exams will only turn away aspiring teachers to be.

I have passed the ELAR 4th-8th grade, ESL, and PPR within 2020. I was unable to test in March-June on the ESL and PPR due to the pandemic. Once I finally obtained eligibility, there was a hiring freeze in my area due to the uncertainty. Now I have job offers, but no S.O.E. from my E.P.P.
