Keep Kingwood High Students together for 2017-2018 year

Several options have been proposed for Kingwood High School students displaced from their home campus due to Hurricane Harvey in Kingwood, Texas. Two of the options include sharing the campus with Summer Creek High School in Humble, Texas for the 2017-2018 school year... proposals that apparently require TEA approval. Some have suggested TEA may, instead, favor breaking up the KHS students and distributing them various other schools in the immediate and surrounding communities. We, as parents, students, staff and the Kingwood Community at large, feel that it is in the best interest of the students of KHS to keep the student body together, on a single campus for the entire school year. The relationships between students and with faculty is critical to maintain during this already stressful period of their young lives. Please consider the options that allow the entire student body to attend Summer Creek and approve such options. Please DO NOT break up the student body among multiple other campuses. Doing so will destroy the KHS culture, spirit and community that we've come to know and hold dear. For Mustang Pride, please keep KHS Mustangs together as they go through this uncertain year and grow stronger because of it.
