Why this petition matters

Nikola Tesla is often overlooked and forgotten in our history, despite his inventions being revolutionary and ahead of their time. This is an injustice to a great inventor and contributor to society. Other scientists such as Thomas Edison that are taught about in school who were competing with Tesla gained all the fame and recognition when Tesla's inventions were objectively superior. Guglielmo Marconi, another inventor competing with Tesla, is famous for sending the first long-distance radio signal, however, he was using Tesla's inventions. Marconi essentially stole the idea and invention from Tesla and executed it first, awarding him a Nobel Prize in physics using Tesla's radio. One of Tesla's greatest inventions was the induction motor. The induction motor revolutionized motors and paved the way for all future motors and all of their uses and yet somehow, it still goes unrecognized. To that end, Nikola Tesla is highly unrecognized for his genius, inventions, and overall being a good person for wanting to improve human life.
