The STAAR test of today causes much anxiety and stress among all students who take it. It is also been proven time and time again that it has no benefits, and only adds to the already unbearable amount of stress places on students. 7th grade students, Grace Lee and Thao Nguyen, have come to a solution: the TRAP test. The TRAP test stands for the Texas Readiness Academic Program, and in short, is a huge statewide project that helps students, not only show what they know, but also helps them learn important life skills like communication and collaboration at a young age. They create a final product, based on a prompt, and questions given to every student in the state. I hope you can support us on our journey to create the new generation of standardized tests.
