As a responder to several of these traffic fatalities, I absolutely agree. As a frequent traveler on these roads, I also agree.

I'm signing this because it's one way to help prevent traffic accidents on Hwy 290.

It is becoming so dangerous with the traffic congestion and the large number of construction trucks especially at the current speed limits which need to be lowered.

290 safety improvements are overdue. People drive on 290 way too fast and aggressive. So many accidents. Our families deserve better.

I’m scared for my 2 year old to be driven on the road, let alone all of the other children from the surrounding communities!

this is a good first step. But TxDOT needs to do much more, e.g. eliminate the horribly dangerous middle yellow lane of confusion because it contributes to most of the head on collisions. Instead, TxDOT can allow U turns on all lights, and prohibit left turns on or off 290.

I live right off of 290.. I have 3 daughters that will one day drive on this highway. I have no clue what needs to be done.. whether it be reducing speed limit, Putting stop lights at ever 1/2 mile, building a median.. I don’t know but I do KNOW something needs to change. I’m tired of hearing sirens and seeing posts about deaths and injuries. Way too many way too often
