Jacksonville texas has a native american as their school mascot and is allowing students to culturaly appropriate. Not to mention the district chooses to call our mascot an "indian" when literally natives and indians are very different. Everyone should call them native(s), native americans, indigenous people or call them by their tribe name now back to the main point. This is incredibly racist and offensive. Native americans have been slaughtered, raped, enslaved ever since colonization happened and even now its still a problem. Native americans are NOT mascots animals nor savages. They are beautiful humans with rich culture that dont deserve what has happened to them. Help me change this the mascot of this racist town by signing this petition.
