As some of you may know, the parking passes have gone up to $80 here at the Texas A&M University-Commerce College Campus. This has not only caused an issue for students to be able to afford on top of everything else they have to pay for, but with both Whitley and Smith halls being closed this year, it has also been hard to find parking spots because of the flood of all students living within the same areas. This is a safety hazard for everyone because of the distance they have to park their cars from their room, especially for the people who work late nights and have to walk by themselves. The price does not match the available parking spots for all students and something should definitely be done about this. Lowering the price of parking passes is ideal for this situation because there are not enough parking spots for each student to park their car while at the same time making sure they feel safe enough to walk alone to their destinations.
