Keely Meloche started this petition to Texas A&M and

This is a petition to bring back the UT Austin and A&M football game for all the students and alumni of both schools. It would impact the community by bringing Texans from all walks of life together to support our Longhorns and Aggies. Texas schools are predominately filled with Texas residents, and a football game between the two largest schools in Texas would only serve to boost the states moral. The game was played every year from 1915-2011 until A&M joined the SEC. If enough people sign this petition, we could ask the schools to reinstate the game as a yearly tradition. My brother went to A&M, and I go to UT. Many families in Texas have similar "house divided" situations and want to see the old fashioned rivalry re-established on a 100 yard field. Football brings smiles to peoples faces. The game would create a camaraderie between the two schools as representatives of Texas. It even brings the students closer together. I can't tell you how many football games I've attended where I met students from other schools during the game and remained close friends. Attending a football game is bonding, no matter who you're cheering for. How many students graduated high school in Texas and were separated because they chose these different schools? A game between Texas A&M and the University of Texas at Austin would allow these students to come together once again for a common interest. Alumni from all over the world from both schools would proudly attend such an event. This game would support restaurants, bars, and so many other businesses each year. Once the petition has a significant amount of signatures, we can urge our schools to schedule the game once again. Make your voice heard by signing this petition to bring the A&M vs. UT football game back to life.
