During the current COVID-19 outbreak, many people are panic buying food, toiletries and over the counter medicines. This is leading to shortages and many of us are unable to purchase the things we need.

The public have been instructed to work from home where possible, but for NHS, emergency service and other healthcare workers this is not possible. In fact many of them are working additional hours on top of our usual shifts.

This leaves little time for us to queue at supermarkets at opening times to try and get the essential things we need to feed and care for ourselves and our families and often by the time we are able to get to shops everything has gone.

We are appealing to supermarkets to open exclusively to NHS, emergency service and other healthcare workers before the general public to allow these essential workers an opportunity to get the things they need to stay healthy and continue to provide public services during these difficult times.
