Sirbastian Malik Whitted was a 17 - year old student of Woodbridge High School and a first time father at 16 years old. A juvenile that was certified as an adult and sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment as a first- time offender. This petition is an attempt to reintroduce Sirbastian back into society In the most positive and expedient way possible; by granting him an early release. Giving him a chance to demonstrate his growth and maturity from adolescent to manhood. To express his desire to rejoin society as a viable member. In hope we ask the governor of Virginia to grant him a Executive Clemency, so that he can become a productive citizen and rejoin the family that loves and misses him dearly.
" I've been incarcerated for over 10 years now, for robbery, malicious wounding, and gang participation. I am thankful that no one got hurt or killed as a result of my actions. Looking back I realize how foolish, ignorant, and immature I was, allowing my youth, inexperience, and ignorance to blind me to the reality and the magnitude of my decisions. Influenced by drugs, peer pressure, and a lifestyle that wasn't my own. Through out my sentence I have not only grown as a man, but I have also grown to become deeply ashamed of my past actions. I want to be free, not just for the sake of freedom, but for the chance at atonement, so I can be true representation of a good man possessing real character and honor one who strives for righteousness and not evil"
With that being said we ask for your helping hand in seeking Sirbastian's early release. please aid Sirbastian in this case by subscribing your signature to the petition that will ultimately be submitted to the governor of Virginia; or by going a step further; you may submit your personal comments or character letters to the governor on his behalf.
Thank you for your time spent reading this request for Sirbastian's early release.
