Here in Canada the number of road fatalties caused by imparied driving is estimated at 55.4% of all road fatalties. Every day on average 4 Canadians are killed in alcohol and drug related crashes on our public roads. Those numbers are alarming. Our justice system needs longer penalties for impaired drivers. Impaired driving causing death holds a Max of 10 years jail time in Ontario. This needs to change. How many innocent lives need to be lost before we take a stand and hold impaired dirvers accountable to the full extent. A 10 year maximum jail sentence only tells the loved ones of the innocent lives lost that there loved ones lives didn't matter.
