Jason Wilson started this petition to Tennessee State Senate

The state law in Tennessee that makes all gambling illegal was passed in 1906. Its now 2018 and times have changed since that time. It has been 112 years since this law went into effect. We are currently seeking to change this law to help our community and stop revenue leaving the state and going to Cherokee, NC and other surrouding areas.

A small example is in 2012 Harrahs Cherokee revenue was $28 Billion dollars for a single year. Even at 10% of this would make a large impact on our local economy within our state. 1 poker room could generate 20 jobs and annual tax revenue of up to $1 million for state and local governments. Not only benefiting local businesses surrounding the the room as for example, food and restaurants, convenient stores and small business within the state.

We are pursuing change for employment growth, economic growth throughout Tennessee. All parties and individuals would benifit from the revenue brought in by players from surrounding states. I speak for all local players that would love not to drive 2 hrs or more and another state benifiting from our play, we could enjoy a game we love and also help our communities at the sametime.

Thank you to anyone that decides to sign our petition and hopefully together we can make a change now before it happens in Bristol, VA and our state misses out on potential job growth and revenue for our state.
