I’m hoping to achieve equal parenting rights. I feel it shouldn’t be one sided. A man or a woman can fail as a parent.  so why should women only have custody? Marriage shouldn’t dictate if a father has rights for their little one.
I’m hoping to achieve equal rights for a female and male when it comes to children.in Tennessee. In my opinion laws shouldn’t be biased for any race or gender. Some men actually want to be in their child’s life and find it hard when the woman and the laws are against them. If a woman doesn’t have to fight for rights over their child why should a man.The law does more harm then good so many kids grow up without a parent due to the frustration of a baby momma’s putting false stories in the child’s head and the one sided law.
Men and women are both capable of doing just about the same including making mistakes or doing wrong. So for a woman to automatically have full custody isn’t fair in the slightest. This one sided law does nothing but bring stress to countless people even after some just had to deal with a break up.

Most marriages end in divorce about 40 to 50% and that’s not even taking into account the people that just part ways without divorcing. So why should marriage determine if you have rights to your child? There are plenty of men that was in the hospital the same amount of time as the women. There are even times when the women just go to sleep right after giving birth and leave the men to fill all the paperwork out. Why can a man fill all of the paperwork out in the hospital name his child sign their birth certificate and still have no right’s over their child? It hurts seeing the child that came from part of you sharing  so many similarities even has your last name but by law has nothing to with you.  I hope we can change this for the better of children all over Tennessee to grow up with both parents even if the parents don’t get along. To many women use this law to keep a child away from their father just because they don’t like the man.
