Allow Tennessee the Right of Gay Marriage

Tennessee should allow same sex marriage to show that we can be the first southern state to allow same-sex couples the right to be happy. We talk about how accepting America is and how we want everyone to feel welcome but that cannot be done until its proved that LGBT couples are just the same as everyone else. In the state of Tennesse same-sex marriage was constitutionally banned in 2006 saying that it would ruin the sanctity of traditional marriage. So far there are 12 northern states in the U.S that allow same sex marriage why can we not be the 13th or even the 14th? Please know that in the state of Tennessee the only thing that LGBT couples can do legally is get Joint Custody of a child that we have to fight to adopt. One of the biggest reasons Same-Sex Marriage should be allowed is due to the simple fact that if my fiance were to get sick and be hospitalized, due to the fact that my marriage is not legal, I would have to leave the hospital and if refused be police escorted off the grounds. What harm comes in happiness? Most will say that a homosexual marriage will cause the divorce of a heterosexual marriage, but thats far beyond belief. Please join the fight to help make families grow in the state of Tennessee and show congress that Tennessee CARES.
