Jemiyah and Jeremiah (ages 4 and 3) aren't throw away children. They are loved. They have grandparents, first cousins, aunts, uncles, great grandparents and too many extended relatives to count. And yet, DCS is holding them in foster care despite their biological grandparent's successfully completing paperwork, home study and background checks as well as agreeing to classes and everything else DCS required.

Their father passed away unexpectedly Christmas 2015 due to illness and he would have wanted them to be with family. There is a major injustice taking place and we need your help to right this wrong. Practices and legislation needs to change to ensure that biological families that are fit and appropriate are the FIRST placement option for children in foster care. This is happening all over the U.S. and is motivated by the need to inflate adoption numbers (by any means necessary) and $$$.

At this point, family members are not being permitted to see the children and have missed birthdays, milestones and several holidays. DCS should be strengthening families, not tearing them apart.
