Renters in Utah living in apartments are being charged more than they can afford and are living in crappy apartments that are no where close to what was shown or discussed in the lease agreement and what was verbally explained. The renters are ending up getting charged more than what was agreed on in the lease all while living with things like mold, cockroaches, water leaks, loud neighbors when they were promised otherwise, and more. Though no one can or will go after the apartments due to agreements in the lease not to sue or due to the lawyers the apartments have hired to defend them. Utah needs to improve the laws as to what the apartment landlords can get away with and they need to regulate the living conditions more to create a safe environment for the renters.
