Earlier this week it was announced that Alberta was temporarily suspending the gas tax to give citizens a break at the pump given the rising gas prices. 

When it came to Ontario talks about doing the same, it was shot down. 

The Ontario Carbon tax adds over $0.14 per litre on gas prices. As gas prices are continuing to rise to record high prices, relieving Ontarian’s of this tax for the current situation could mean the difference for some between putting fuel in your car for necessary transportation and putting food on the table.
