Corona Change started this petition to Tempe Union High School District and

Mask mandates in Arizona have grown to become less popular due to the recent announcement of Arizona fully opening up. In schools, the mask mandate has still been enforced and it can be safely said that, due to the mask mandate of the Tempe Union High School District, the security guards have been more observant towards dress codes violations, which masks would technically fall under. However, due to the Arizona summer heat starting to come in, many girls at the school have started to wear shorter clothes like crop tops and short shorts in order to try and not overheat. Many of these girls have been dress coded due to their clothes being too provocative and revealing, which is simply untrue. It is the basic human right that one should bee able to wear shorter clothes if they feel overheated, especially in a desert state such as Arizona. It is due to this basic violation of the human right to express oneself that the entire school district must acknowledge that girls should be allowed to wear shorter clothes like crop tops and short shorts. Men hardly ever get dress coded for wearing shorter clothes like tank tops or even partially showing underwear due to excessively big pants/shorts, so girls wearing shorter clothes should be allowed within the district. It is the responsibility of those who get disturbed by the clothes to ignore the issue and learn to deal with it, as the real world allows people to wear whatever they want, regardless of heat or even ethics at times. Henceforth, those who sign this petition are not only ones who wish to allow students to wear shorter clothes in school, but also help all students acclimate to the clothes people wear out in the real world.
