Despite what food Trader Joe's does and does not donate, signing this petition serves as a wake-up call, an alarm bell sounding to all major food providers that we desire to waste no more. American society can do so much more to end global food hunger, myself included, and hopefully this petition provokes such humanitarian sensibilities. However, t is not merely food distributors that are to blame. Consumers are half the problem.

I saw the film in school and I feel that signing this petition shows my support for not just the film but the underlying premise - conserve. I realize that Trader Joe's might be getting vilified too much but I still agree with most of what the film is advocating.

I just shopped at my local TJ this afternoon and watched Dive! this evening. This movie really stirred me beyond sharing my comments on message board Within the week I'll call TJ to see who they are currently donating their fresh food to. I'm also going to call our large local food bank and ask them about their donation pickup schedule to see if something can be arranged with TJ. The time to ACT is NOW! The waste in our society is a disgrace.

No disrespect to Trader Joe's or any other food establishment that may or may not be viewed as wasteful. I am signing as a personal pledge to myself to make more conservative choices with food and other products, and to spend more time lending a helping hand to others in need.

It appears you already do this, but keep it up and improve on it. Some employees say a lot of food still goes to waste. Peace!

I volunteer at my local community table (soup kitchen) and i'm tired of watching people be hungry and I know about the waste from grocery stores...

I think its sad that companies are more worried about profit than they are about making sure everyone in the communities that support them are well fed.
