Petitioning Captain, New York Yankees Derek Jeter

Tell the Yankees to Hit a Grand Slam with an It Gets Better video

Every day, gay, lesbian Bi-sexual and transgenered  teens and young adults in Middle School and High School and even college are bullied, harassed and discriminated against. It's sad that some of them are bullied so badly, they decide to commit suicide. The San Francisco Giants and Boston Red Sox recently made a video to stand for "It Gets Better."  Now it's time for Captain Derek Jeter to lead A-Rod and the rest of the Yankee team members and management to stand up and make a grand-slam homerun video that's truly worth your style.

Letter to
Captain, New York Yankees Derek Jeter
Even though I'm a native Texan, my Mother and Grandmother always were cheering for the Yankees back in the M-M days.

I'm now in my late 50s and have seen a tremendous change in attitude throughout a majority of the nation for GLBT rights. However, in the past year, I've witnessed almost a back-lash to pre Matthew Shepard days of bullying and hatred.

Only of the last "industries" to not address tolerance for the GLBT community has been the sports industry. That started to change with the San Francisco Giants and now the Boston Red Sox videos for "It Gets Better."

Captain Jeter, take the stand and the lead for all of your fellow team members, management and employees, you are, in my and many millions of other fans, eyes "America's Team;" I implore you to step up to the plate and lead and yes, challenge every other baseball team to stand up for each youth's/persons dignity.

Why stop with baseball? Why don't you lead the charge for basketball, football, soccer and all the other sports?

Thank you in advance for your carefull consideration and timely rresponse.
