Creating a safer community for all is a top priority for Dudley Labour.

Local people have told us that they are concerned about community safety. We are on their side in working to ensure Dudley is a safe and welcoming borough for all.

But the Tory Government has massively cut funding to the police and council, making it harder to prevent and tackle crime.

The Tories have:

  • Cut more than 2000 Police Officers in the West Midlands
  • Cut more than 300 Community Support Officers in the West Midlands
  • Cut more than £175 Million from West Midlands Police
  • Cut core central government funding to Dudley Council by £97 million since 2010.
  • Local Conservative MP's including Mike Wood MP, James Morris MP and Margot James MP have consistently voted for cuts to Public Services.

People do not feel safe in their Community.

It does not have to be like this.

A Labour Council will:

  • Fight for a 'Fair Deal for Dudley' by campaigning for more funding from Government.
  • Tackle both Anti-Social Behaviour and Crime by working with the Police on the 'Together We Can' initiative
  • Improving the CCTV system to ensure Dudley is safer.

Sign our petition calling on the Tory Government to both increase funding for Dudley Police to include more money for Neightbourhood Policing and to increase funding to Dudley Council to ensure we have a safer community.
