This is an overview of the City of Pasadena’s proposed staff recommendation for retail marijuana sales:
• Location: 1,000 feet from Sensitive Uses such as schools, libraries, parks, another marijuana establishment. Can extend to nightclubs, bars, etc.
• Number: 7 Citywide with 1 max per Council district
• License: Require a Conditional Use Permit and Business License with applicable fees.
• Where Allowed: General Commercial and General Industrial Zones where housing is not permitted.

The city staff of Pasadena has created a proposal that does protect kids. We encourage the Pasadena City Council to adopt ALL city staff recommendations on retail sales, commercial cultivation, and personal indoor cultivation to help keep marijuana out of the hands of minors.
In addition, Protect Pasadena Kids (PPK) proposes adding bus stops and train stations used by minor students as a Sensitive Use area. Extending the Sensitive Use to popular traveled areas by teens such as Old Town and Lake Street is also proposed proposed by PPK. All advertising of pot, dispensaries and usage will not be allowed within the 1000 ft of designated kid zones as well.
