Although it is important to maintain employment opportunities for New Zealanders, it is of greater importance to maintain and protect the last untouched (well almost - as Tooth Fish are being actively fished since 1996) marine ocean ecosystem in the world.

Its important to me to safegaurd areas of pristine nature from Mankind's exploitation - to leave something for nature alone. We don't need to fish in this area, its just pure greed
