Tell the FCC to Require Tucker Carlson to be Labelled “For Entertainment Purposes Only”
Why this petition matters

In the wake of Tucker Carlson’s most recent attempt to discredit Jon Stewart through childish name-calling, we’re reminded that Fox News’s lawyers managed to sidestep a defamation lawsuit by acknowledging nothing Tucker Carlson says is factual and no reasonable person should take him seriously.
Under the FCC’s regulations regarding the broadcasting of false information, they have the authority to instate such a requirement. With this in mind, we demand any show where Tucker Carlson makes an appearance open with the following disclaimer:
”This program is for entertainment purposes only. No material presented herein should be considered factual.”
If Fox News wants to defend themselves by recognizing Tucker’s rhetoric is absolute baloney, they should have to present this disclaimer every time he opens his mouth—at the opening of his show and after every commercial break, as well as on any show where Tucker Carlson appears as a guest.
Broadcasting misinformation is a threat to democracy and Fox should be embarrassed to produce it. At the very least, it’s time they acknowledge it when it spews from their network.
