“What makes you think human beings are sentient and aware? There's no evidence for it. Human beings never think for themselves, they find it too uncomfortable. For the most part, members of our species simply repeat what they are told-and become upset if they are exposed to any different view. The characteristic human trait is not awareness but conformity, and the characteristic result is religious warfare. Other animals fight for territory or food; but, uniquely in the animal kingdom, human beings fight for their 'beliefs.' The reason is that beliefs guide behavior which has evolutionary importance among human beings. But at a time when our behavior may well lead us to extinction, I see no reason to assume we have any awareness at all. We are stubborn, self-destructive conformists. Any other view of our species is just a self-congratulatory delusion. Next question.”

Ethanol is a cleaner, renewable biofuel and we must end our dependence on the archaic use of fossil fuels which have been polluting our world for decades. We must look to the future health of our citizens. Big Oil will throw all their wealth and power to prevent this. Don't be paid off by these lobbyists. Do the right thing.

Although I don't live in Chicago, I am effected by the pollution that is produced in Chicago, and by the air pollution created by all the commuters that pass by my town of Munster, IN on their way to work in the city. I believe that not only will the residence of Chicago benefit from the use of ethanol (and I hope they mean made from hemp oil, not corn, as hemp is much more environmentally responsible and soooo much cheaper to grow!), those of us in the burbs will benefit, too.
