Tell Texas Senators: Get kids out of adult prisons before another one dies!

House Bill 122 Keeps Kids Out of Adult Prison. Help us secure the future of the next generation of Texans while protecting parental rights by demanding that key decision-maker Senator John Whitmire support HB 122 in the Texas Senate!
Texas is 1 of only 6 states that sends all 17-year-olds accused of a crime to the adult criminal justice system.
In the adult system, 17-year-olds are more likely to be raped and abused and commit suicide. A 17-year-old accused of robbery committed suicide in a Texas county jail in February. We must protect our children, even when they make mistakes and we are mad at them.
When 17-year-olds are arrested in Texas, no one is required to tell their parents and parents don't have a right to be involved in the court process.
Whether Texas passes HB 122 or not is in the hands of the Senate Committee on Criminal Justice, yet the committee's Chairman, John Whitmire, has not given the bill a hearing. Tell Senator Whitmire to give the bill a hearing and let it have a vote in the full Senate!
Sign the petition Senator Whitmire to keep kids out of adult prisons by supporting HB 122 and giving it a vote before it's too late!
Read House Bill 122 here and call Whitmire's Capitol office at (512) 463-0115 to demand that he protect kids and make communities safer by passing HB 122!
