Target employees should work when Target is open. Too bad for them.

I remember watching the videos of people being trampled on for Black Friday sales when I was younger and have been terrified of the day ever since. This year was my first year working retail during the holiday and I was petrified but everything went better than expected. People were patient, but I'm guessing only because the store is very cramped and if you start something, someone is gonna say something back. :P
Speaking of which, the holidays should be all businesses closed days. I would like to spend time with my family, thank you very much.

Thanksgiving is supposed to be a National Day of Thanksgiving- a day where we, as Americans collectively give thanks for our family, lives, liberty and the bounty we are so lucky to have. The Friday after Thanksgiving was traditionally the first shopping day of the Christmas season because that's what was next- Christmas. I'm saddened and sickened to see such an important American celebration reduced to "Black Friday Eve"

They HAVE JOBS!! Something at LEAST 9% of Americans don't. They should be thankful for that!!

My wife works at a retail store (national chain, not Target). Her schedule for the past 24 hours starting the evening of Thanksgiving was:
- work 9:30pm-2:00am;
- driving home;
- about 2 hours of sleep;
- driving back to the store;
- work 5:30am-7:30pm.
It's inhuman! It's employees' abuse! And unlike all those idiot shoppers (to be honest -- I used to be one of them), employees do NOT have a choice.
I'm signing this petition, although with a slight reservation -- it's shouldn't be just a Target thin, it's a national concern.

I realize it's too late stop the madness this year but I hope maybe Target and the other stores that opened on Thanksgiving wil think twice about doing it next year. I plan to boycott any retail store that remained open on the holiday this year.

Target's policies are the opposite of family values.

Our country has become so "money hungry." Opening at 5am is early enough for black Friday.
