Tell South Carolina to End the Cruel Practice of Bear Baying

Bear baying is a vicious activity in which a declawed, defanged bear is chained to a stake as hunting dogs bark and bite at it, trying to force the bear to stand on its hind legs. Hunters claim this is a "training exercise." In reality, it is just another example of cruelty to animals.

South Carolina is the only state in the U.S. where this is allowed to continue. This must change. Tell John Frampton, director of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, to revoke possession permits from anyone who uses bears for bear baying and to inspect all captive bears to ensure they are not being subjected to this barbaric practice.
