I have an intellectually disabled child, who doesn't realize what this word really means and why I get so angry when I hear it. I also have family and friends who use it a lot and when I say something I just get..."I would never use it about..." and "I love...it's not meant that way"
IT'S NOT OK!!!

I'm signing this because I want to tell 'Showtime' that "bullying is not funny"!!!! There is one's whom say it on t.v. and in real-life!! I "love" that the Special Olympics talks about the R-word when they speak at different times at their event's on t.v.. I "do not" like the R-word AT ALL!!!! No one should be called that NO ONE NO ONE!!!!!!!! NO ONE is that R-word NO ONE!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been called that in my life and I "don't"-like it either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It wasn't funny when Rahm Emanuel used it, when he was fighting single payer. THIS is inexcusable.

My son is challenged and I am very upset about some asshole comedian making fun of him. We should investigate Mr. Owen and his sexuality, his looks, his ethnicity, and his wife and children. I'm sure there is something Mr. Owen cares about that could be made into a comedy routine. Also, Showtime producers are incredibly insensitive about things which people have no control over. They obviously have never have been to a special olympics function or they would see how courageous and awesome the athletes competing are. I will be cancelling my subscription to Showtime with my cable provider and encourage my friends to do the same. It is challenging to abstain from the language I would prefer to be using for this letter, but I will summarize with "Showtime and their management staff can go have intercourse with themselves".

In this day and age, the use of such language is disturbing and very offensive. People with disabilities have so very much to offer...no matter how severe the disability. WAKE UP!!!
