President Obama and Democrats have made education affordability a priority over the last four years.
In 2010, President Obama signed into law student loan reform that ended government subsidies to big banks and made college more affordable to millions of Americans.
Despite President Obama’s hard work to keep student loan rates low, they will double on July 1 if Congress fails to act.
President Obama and Democrats have a plan to keep this from happening, but Republicans in Congress aren’t on board. If Congress doesn’t act, more than 7 million students will pay about $1,000 more in interest next year.
We can’t let that happen.
As the President has said, “We can’t make higher education a luxury. It’s an economic imperative.”
Add your name and demand that Republicans in Congress don’t double student loan rates.
